Thurs 15th October - Meeting for anyone who wants to get involved with the organisation of next year's Chorlton Green Festival; 7.30 pm at St Clements Church High Lane. Following the great success of this year'festival, where it was estimated over 3,000 people attended, next year's festival will be on Sat 28th March.
Weds 21st October - over the border in Trafford, demonstration at Old Trafford Town Hall on Talbot Rd (corner of Warwick Road and Talbot Road), against proposed Tesco MegaTesco. 5.30 - 6.45 pm (as Trafford councillors gather for full council meeting). See earlier blog for further information on the development, which will have a major effect on Chorlton and other district centres if it goes ahead.

There will be exhibitions on the plans on the following dates:

Friday 9th October – 2:00pm – 7:30pm
Saturday 10th October – 9:30am – 4:30pm
Throughout the consultation period the exhibition boards will be available to view at Chorlton Library (Manchester Road, Chorlton, M21 9PN.) during normal opening hours. More information at Talk Chorlton
Stretford Mega-Tesco
Following a very well attended public meeting in Gorse Hill last Monday 28th Sept) a campaign has been launched to fight the plans - for a report on the meeting see here Campaign meeting: Monday, 5th October at 7.30pm, again at Gorse Hill United Church -entrance on Wesley Street just off A56/ Chester Road in Gorse Hill, postcode M32 0GL
Chorlton Meadows Campaign
Although the official date for objections was the 1st October, there is still time to object:
ALL letters received prior to the drafting of the planning committee report are summarised and included in the body of the report. All letters received between the report being drafted and the Tuesday before Planning Committee sits are summarised in what is called a ‘Late Representation Report’ This report is published and available to members of the committee prior to the meeting. Any representations received between the Tuesday and the Committee meeting are reported verbally. As far as we are aware, the planning committe sits on the 19th November. GET YOUR OBJECTION IN AS SOON AS POSSIBLE to make sure it is summarised in the planning report…
